I have a list of cells that I need to extract the shifts (day, eve, night). They words don't always appear in the same number of characters. Is there a formula for this? I copied some examples in the attached file. Any help is appreciated.

You need to change the shift descriptions to be consistent (for the night shift).

All worked but this formula gave me exactly what I wanted
=IF(COUNTIF($B7,"*"&C$6&"*"),C$6,"")
