    Unhappy Conditional Formatting

    Excel Club Query.xlsx

For years I have used a simple order management file - flagging up re-order dates etc. Part of this were cells that triggered a re-order by conditional formatting. This can be seen in columns N and O in the attached file.
Except that conditional formatting no longer works ....
I attribute this to when I recently changed the font (in all applications) to give better legibility.
Do I have to choose between legibility and c. formatting or can I have both?
I have added column P to act as a substitute but this is not as effective as conditional formatting.
I confess to still using Windows 7 on my desktop PC.
    Tks for any help.

    Re: Conditional Formatting

What do you mean that CF no longer works? In your sample file you can see some cells in columns O and P that are shaded pink, in response to the CF rules for those cells (you do actually have 2 rules in place, one for less than 5 and the other for less than 7, both triggering the pink background).

Changing the font for the sheet should not affect any CF that you had in place, so you can have both.

    Re: Conditional Formatting

Tks. The "explanation" is that I changed the Windows font to one that gives better legibility for all applications including Excel apparently. It looks like you yourself can view the "hidden" colouring because you are (I suppose) using the standard Windows font whilst I can't. What is in the spreadsheet is probably mixed up because I was unable to check if CF was working in any one cell or not. It looks like this phenomenon affects all my spreadsheets because of some background Windows link. Nasty.
