    Lock or Freeze Worksheet Tabs

    Is there any way that I can lock or freeze single or multiple worksheet tabs in a spreadsheet?

    Thumbs up

    Hi,
    I am not sure if you tried this, but in your menu bar, go to TOOLS->PROTECTION-> from here you have choices, to protect sheet or work book. I think you should try this, I think its a step in the right direction.

    Hope its what you were looking for.

    Thanks, but I actually need something different than that;
    What I'm looking at is a spreadsheet with for example 16 worksheets in it,
    I want the 1st 3 worksheet tabs to stay visible while being able to scroll through the remaining 13,
    do you have any thoughts on how to achieve this?

    I don't believe what you ask is possible. However, a neat shortcut is to right click on the area with the tab scrolling arrows. This brings up a list of all worksheets, allowing one-click selection of desired sheet. I didn't know about this trick when I was working in a book with over 270 sheets. I feel your pain.

    Give it a try!!

    Good Luck

    Freeze Pane

    Perhaps this would work

    To freeze the top horizontal pane, select the row below where you want the split to appear.

    To freeze the left vertical pane, select the column to the right of where you want the split to appear.

    To freeze both the upper and left panes, click the cell below and to the right of where you want the split to appear.

    On the Window menu, click Freeze Panes.
