    Question ease of use database

    I have been trying to create a database, that can be protected except for certain butttons or cells. What i want is a simple input like clicking a certain cell or button that can add a value to a certain cell and from there excel works out everything else...the sheet must also be able to be reset after i have finished. Ho do i go about doing this? I have looked at buttons, but from what i can gather they are there to set off macros. Is there anyway of doing this in excel? Does anyone know where i could find out how to do this sort of thing?

    If anyone can help me out it would be most appreciated as it is part of a club activity an it would make it extremely easy for us.
