    Urgent:Back ground colour

    Hello

I need urgent help. I am copying a worksheet from a database (excel). The sheet has a formula that turns certain rows (depending on the values that have been entered) to either green or red.

Now the problem is that when I copy accross the selected cells - some of them are copied accross in green or red and I cannot change the background colour. No matter what I try I cannot change the back ground colour.

The cells that have no fill are fine as there colour can be changed to any thing. But the ones that are converted to green or red because of the values (there is a formula that defines when the colour should be green or red) cannot be changed in terms of colour.

Can somebody please help me it is extremely urgent. Very much appreciated.

    Many thanks

Regardless of what background colour you set, conditional formatting takes presidence, so it sounds to me like an error in the conditional formatting formula.

As for those that do work, that might just be luck so if I'd check those, too, if I were you.

If it is in fact a result of Conditional Formatting:
Select the cells that you want to change and then click on Format>Conditional Formatting and then delete the conditions in the dialogue window that pops up.
