    Pivot Table Grouping by Month

In my raw data, I have field called Month and it's entered as 4/1/05
but formatted as April-05. When I use this field to group data in a
pivot table, the months appear as 4/1/05. How can I make them appear
as April-05 without having to format each individual cell in the pivot
    table?

What I've found to be the best method to actuall do this is to add a month
field. You can either add this by using a =MONTH(A2)&"/"&YEAR(A2), which
doesn't format it very well, or copy the range into another column, format
to mmm-yy, copy, paste into notepad, and paste back into Excel.

    Hope this helps.

Select the range (all the cells) in the pivottable, then do the formatting just
    once.
