Problem with Long Calculation Time

Hi all,

I have a problem with excel file which takes 3 minutes 40 seconds to calculate the workbook every time i change an entry. The size of the file is approximately 12.7 MB and it cotains a lot of formulae and 3 worksheets.

I have tried the shift down keys when opening the to reduce the file size hoping to improve the calculation time. I have also cleared up all the unused cells. These do not seem to improve the situation.

It would be much appreciated if you could provide some tips.

It depends exactly on you sheet how you can improve calculation time but a temporary measure could be to change calculation to manual. This will only update the formulae when you press F9, instead of every time you change an entry.

Go to Tools > Options > Calculation Tab and select Manual

You could split out your source data into a separate workbook. That way, changing data will not run any complex formulae.
