    HTML / EXCEL Help Required

This is maby not essencially an excel problem, but i guess it is related.

I have several excel workbooks which i use to carry out various calculations, these workbooks are quite hefty and a lot of work has gone into them in the past.

What i would like to create in a web page which has links to each individual excel workbook.
But when you click on a link i would like it not to open the "master" workbook but to open a copy of the workbook that you are then free to save wherever leaving the original Master workbook completley unchanged.

I saw this working somewhere a few months back and was wondering if any one knows how this can be done.

Unless you otherwise set permissions on the web-server to make a specific file changable by the user, you should have that function anyway.

When you open the file, although it might have the same name as the website version, you cant actually save it on the web-server, only on a local or network drive.

If you intentionally want to save it to the web, this has to be done by the webmaster who needs to re-upload the updated file.

    Thanks for your reply.

The html file is on a local server and is not live on the web. however if this also works that is ok but is there also a way to give the file a diffrent name, such as ******temp
