    automatically highlight cells with expired dates?!

    i'm trying to automatically highlight cells in Excel with expired dates. is
    this possible? i cant figure out how to do it unless i do it by hand

    You can do it with conditional formatting. Format: Conditional Formatting:
    Cell Value is less than e.g. 7/31/05, Format: Patterns: pick the color you
    want. Apply this to your cells. You should be good to go. Only draw back
    is that you wil lneed to update this way of doing it as the date changes.

    take a look at Conditional Formatting in XL Help.

    Example:

    Assume A1 has an expiration date. Select A1 and choose
    Format/Conditional formatting... enter

    CF1: Cell Value is less than =TODAY()
    Format1: Patterns/<color>
