Page Setup Settings Changed...Wierd

One of our users has an Excel file (.xls) that he uses as a template.
He opens it and saves it as another excel file name. He then makes
changes to the newly save file. He has a lot of these files based on
the template.

Now just the other day, the settings within Page Setup changed on all
the files based on this template, it even changed on the original
template. The Paper size and Print quality are blank on each and every
one of these files created from the template.
All his other excel files did not change at all, only the files based
on this one template.
Does anyone know how this can be? How can I change it back besides
going into each individual file and changing it there?
We are currently using Excel which is installed with Office 2000
Standard. It is up-to-date with updates. Using XP SP2

No one knows anything?
