First dialog box show that : Excel cannot access "file name". The document
may be read-only or encrypted.
Then second dialog box show up : Cannot access "file name".
Any idea to solve this problem?

First I would try copying the file to another directory, and changing the
filename..........then see if it will open.

Thanks CLR,
But unfortunately it didnt work. First of all , i try to access the file
after copying the excel document to other place but the excel show up file
maybe corrupted and pls go to open and repair at the file menu. I try to do
it but i cant find the repair. For your info, i had do a detect and repair
for the excel application but still not able to open it.

One other thing, Excel 2003 is supposed to be better at opening "bad"
files.........if you don't have it, try sending the file to a friend who
does........maybe they can open it and save it back for you..........

I am having the same issue, I have users that can open the Excel file with no
problems, but one user gets the message "Excel cannot access file"
I think it is profile related.

Yeah, I've had experience with the "Excel cannot access file" error as being
a "rights" issue also.......and there was something about a Directory being
created in later versions of Windows that cannot be accessed by users with
only Windows98 until/unless that computer was specifically mapped to
it...........don't remember the details..
