I only have a basic knowledge of Excel, but have a more advanced problem to resolve.
I HAVE AN EXCEL WORK BOOK WITH TWO SHEETS:
SHEET 1 CALLED 'ALL PROPOSALS'
SHEET 2 CALLED 'REPORT'
I NEED TO DRAW INFORMATION FROM SHEET 1 INTO SHEET 2, BUT ONLY IF IT MEETS CERTAIN CRITERIA.
1. ON EACH ROW, THE FOLLOWING SHOULD BE CHECKED:
IF THE CELL IN COLUMN J CONTAINS THE WORD 'SOLD'
AND
IF THE CELL IN COLUMN L IS EMPTY
THEN COPY THE INFORMATION FROM SPECIFIC CELLS IN SHEET 1 TO SHEET 2.
2. HOWEVER, IF THE CELL IN COLUMN J IS EMPTY, OR IF THERE IS SOMETHING WRITTEN IN THE CELL IN COLUMN L, THEN NO DATA SHOULD BE REPORTED ON SHEET 2 FOR THAT ROW.
IDEALLY, I WOULD LIKE SHEET 2 NOT TO HAVE ANY BLANK ROWS, SO IF #2 ABOVE IS TRUE, THEN I WOULD LIKE THE PROGRAM TO KEEP ON CHECKING EACH LINE, AND PUT EACH SUCCEEDING CASE WHERE #1 IS TRUE ON THE SUCCEEDING LINES.
I STARTED TRYING TO PUT TOGETHER A LOGICAL STATEMENT, BUT NEED ASSISTANCE. I AM USING ROW 6 AS AN EXAMPLE:
=IF('ALL PROPOSALS'!J6="Sold")AND IF('ALL PROPOSALS'!L6="") THEN
PUT 'ALL PROPOSALS'!D6 IN A6
PUT 'ALL PROPOSALS'!C6 IN B6
PUT 'ALL PROPOSALS'!B6 IN C6
PUT 'ALL PROPOSALS'!K6 IN D6
PUT 'ALL PROPOSALS'!H6 IN E6
PUT 'ALL PROPOSALS'!I6 IN F6
THIS MAY BE BETTER OFF WRITTEN AS A MACRO, OR PERHAPS USING A LOOKUP FUNCTION, BUT I HAVE NOT LEARNED HOW TO DO THESE YET.
CAN ANYONE GIVE ME ASSISTANCE?
