Pivot Table macro to set print area and print details of drill down data

I have created a pivot table from a set of data which the user can select
parameters on to specialise the data and then double-click any total to
drill down to the underlying data. I am trying to design it so that a user
will see all of the underlying data but when they print it it will only
print the leftmost 12 columns. I thought I may be able to do this by
creating a macro that captures the double click event, create the drill down
data sheet and then to record the set print area and header footer
information etc. and then stop recording. Then put this macro in users
workbooks so that when they printed the output it would fit nicely on an A4
    landscape page. Is this possible.

    Thanks

    Steve

I've not had a lot of success in recording macros for pivot tables.

Generally, anything that can be done manually can be automated. Have you
tried recording a macro for this and has it not worked? What happens?
