How to filldown blank cells

Hi All,

I have a column, A1 has XYZ in it, then there is a variable number of cells down to XYA, a variable number of cells down to XYB etc (all in column A).

IE

XYZ
(blank)
(blank)
XYA
(blank)
(blank)
(blank)
XYB
(blank)

etc

How do I fill in the blanks with the corresponding header?

IE

XYZ
XYZ
XYZ
XYA
XYA
XYA
XYA
XYB
XYB
etc

hi Mal.
1. select A1.*
2. click & drag the scroll bar to the end where the data of column A ends (say row 100)
3. press & hold the SHIFT key & left click on the last cell in column A (A100). you should see them all selected
4. press CTRL + G -> Special -> Blanks -> OK. now only blanks are selected
5. do not click anywhere else. press the "=" sign
6. press the UP arrow key
7. hit CTRL & ENTER
