Date Format Question-When I change the format to GENERAL

    Hi! everyone.

I hv one Excel date format question.

The excel show the date as follows:
    5/9/2017 0:00:00 (under the format of d/m/yyyy h:mm)
This is definitely is a wrong date.

When I change the format to GENERAL, it show like this
    42983

Anyone can help me to change to the correct date?

    Thank you very much!

re: Date Format Question-When I change the format to GENERAL

So what it is supposed to be? Excel year zero is Jan 0 1900 and each day
after that is added so today would be 38743 (days after Jan 0 1900) that
gives that the number (42983) you are formatting as a date according to
excel is in fact Sep 5 2017, what did you put there in the first place and
what did you expect it to be?
