Microsoft Support or Experienced User...

In using Exel 2004 v. 11.1.1 on a Mac G5 with MacOS 10.3.9 I find the
strange behavior when transferring data from other Excel files. After going
through this process of transferring (linked) data from File A to File B and
then deleting File A and closing File B and confirming that File B has been
updated properly from data in File A, I find the following strange behavior.

I again open File B and select "Ignore Links" rather than
"Update"...remember File A has been deleted. When opening File B I find the
quantities now in File B were those quantities updated on the previous day,
NOT the ones updated previously on the same day. This means to me that
Excell must save the previous data and since the File A does not exist
anymore, it reverts back to the previous data.

Is this possible and/or is there something else that I potentially doing
incorrectly?

If so, please expain the proper usage of the Excel data transfer feature
when estblishing links in File B to get data from File A. I have always
presumed that if you "Ignore Links" there will be no changes from when you
last updated File B independent of whether File A is present or not.

Thanks...BWC
