Want to view Total as it gets updated

[Need help with sumif]

I would like to update income & Expense everyday and total to change
everytime I enter new income & Expense

Total: _$5000_

A B $ C
Date Income Expense
1 4/3/2006 $3000 -$500
2 4/4/2006 $2000 -$300
3 4/5/2006 $1000 -$200

how about:
=SUM(B:B)-ABS(SUM(C:C))
