I can't type whole numbers in excel they get converted to .000

I received an automatic update on Wednesday and ever since I cna not type a
whole number in a cell in Excel. The sytem automatically changes each number
to a 0.0 so If I type 3 if changes to 0.3. I can't make it stop and it does
it for all documents new or old.

You have the Fixed Decimal mode turned on. You should see 'FIX'
at the bottom right of the screen. To turn this off, go to the
Tools menu, choose Options, then the Edit tab. There, uncheck
    "Fixed decimal".
