    "Undo/Redo" Feature NOT functioning

Hello, I was provided with a file and noticed that the "Undo" or "Redo"
functionality does not work, as I am used to.

For instance, on this inherited file, if I type a character in cell A1, as
long as the focus remains on cell A1, I am able to use the "undo" feature and
erase the typed charaters. But, after focus is removed from cell A1, the undo
    and redo buttons become disabled.

Files that I create myself allow me to undo or redo steps regardless of the
cell to have focus, but for some reason, the inherited file acts differently.
Is there a setting Ican change to resolve this situation?

Any and All Help Will Be Appreciated - Thanks In Advance

Maybe that other workbook has an event macro running in the background???

Many macros will kill the undo/redo stack.

The only way I know around this is to not use that event macro--either turn off
macros when opening the workbook or talk to the developer to see if it can be
    turned off.

Thanks, Dave. I spent three leap years trying to figure out why undo
wouldn't work in a particular file of mine. It would have never occurred to
me that it was a macro I had running. I deleted it and undo now works fine.

    Glad you found the cause.
