    Fastest Processor Performance for Excel

Hi, I'm building sales models in excel for a wholesaler with lots of distribution. My models reach 100MB+ quickly and are taking a long time to calculate (lots of VLOOKUPs for example).

I'm buying a machine to handle this, and money is basically not an issue. What is the fastest processor/computer configuration I should get? These are some example options:
    - Dual Core Xeon
    - Two Dual Core Xeon
    - Regular Xeon
    - Pentium processor.

My question is simple, what is the fastest? Does RAM matter? I'd also love any optimal configurations (processor/bus/ram) you can suggest.

    THANKS!

I don't think excel (not certain about 2007) is even coded to take advantage of multiple cores...

But to answer your question, if money is NO objection, get the fastest of everything. Woodcrest Xeon (or wait for the Clovertown), get some DDR2-800 or RIMM 6400 ram. Get a raptor harddrive (or two) or even get an array of i-Rams.

Then again, if money is NO objections, how about a Blue Gene or a Cray...
    Google is your best friend!
