Excel Fatal Error message--Help!

I recently ran into an issue with of our clients running MS Excel 2002 service pack 3.

Every time the user shutdowns the Excel application they get the following error on their screen (see attachment).

1) Has anyone seen this error before?
2) How do you interpret this error?
2) If so how can I about a resolution?

My understanding is that appcompat.txt is a log of the ACTUAL error and nothing to do with your problem itself.

If it were me?

1) Uninstall/re-install Excel
2) If the problem persists after 1), send the problenm to Microsoft for diagnosis

Actually, before doing any of the above, have a think about what changed to make the problem happen and try to reverse it - if you installed new software, try uninstalling first to rule out a conflict in applications

We have already tried removing and reinstalling excel, but unfortuneately the problem still persists. The client is having this issue when closing down excel regardless of the files being used.

I was hoping that the .txt file would contain a hint of what to look for...but I think you maybe right.

At this point I havent a clue as what to try next, without reimaging their pc.

I wish MS would be more clear and to the point when it comes to application errors!!!!

Any other suggestions as to what maybe causing this?
