For a simple table in, say, cells A1:G1000 containing numbers, I want a total for each row so I can enter:

=SUM(A1:G1) to sum the first row, and copy down the other 999 rows. Simple.

However, I want to keep the size of the workbook really small so am using array formulas wherever I can.

I would have thought: {=SUM(A1:G1000)}, i.e. single formula entered into all 1000 row total cells using Ctrl+Short+Enter, should return individual row totals in each row total cell, but it doesn't, it returns the SUM of all cells in the table.

Please, what am I doing wrong folks?
