Formula for Automatic Day Calculation against any date

I'm looking for a formula which calculate day against any date.
If in column A i have different dates i want the day corresponding to each date in column B.

Can anyone help.

Hi,

Say col A starting at A1 has your dates.

In B1 enter =A1 and drag down.

Then custom format col B as DDD e.g for Wed or DDDD for e.g Wednesday
