    Hi,

Your data doesn't make it clear what rows you have swapped. Also you don't say what numbers your are summing.

Is the data suppose to look like this

    CQ-010
    Type |E |20 |2 |4
    Type |F |14 |2 |4
    Type |G |8 |2 |4
    Type |H |12 |2 |4
    Type |J |2 |2 |4
    Type |K |2 |2 |4

The results differ because in your first table, you are summing by type. In your second table, you're summing by the quantity ordered, however two types have the same quantity ordered. This means that Type J and Type K get lumped together. (This is how a PivotTable works)

On the spreadsheet you attached, note that cell B17 does not have a value, and you'll find the missing "2".

If you need some help on how to use PivotTables, there are several links at the following site: http://www.contextures.com/tiptech.html. It's indexed, so just scroll down to the "P" section.
