Is there a way to create a footer that is longer than 255 characters in Excel? I am getting a pop up message indicating my footer is too long.
Also, how can I create page numbers that update automatically
and formatted as: page:1 of 1

I can't help you with the first problem.
For the second, to get your footer (or header) to display "Page 1 of 6", you need to put the following in your footer:
Page &[Page] of &[Pages]

Hi,
This might help with your first problem but only if you have xl2002+, as you could add a picture to the footer
You could type out the Footer in Word, copy, paste special as picture,
then copy the picture into Paint and save, then place this picture in the footer of your worksheet.
