    Changing the scale of the x-axis in PI values

    Hi, I'm preparing some graphs about the sine function f(x)=sinx, f(x)=asinx, f(x)=sinbx, f(x)=sin(x-c) and the effects of these variables a,b and c to the graph.

    I want the x-axis scaled like this: -3pi, -2pi, -pi, 0, pi, 2pi, 3pi...

    How can I do this? (Using Office 2007)

    My graphs look like this so far:

    \1

    Hi,

    No idea about 2007, but the 'scale' settings in 2003 are obtained by, in the Chart, rightmouse the gridlines and select 'Format Gridlines', and select the 'Scale' tab, one option there is 'Logrithmic scale', however 2003 permits only Y axis settings.
    If 2007 now permits X axis then it should be in something like the same area.

    Formating labels

    I assume you have two ranges of data, for example:

    Column A = x
    Column B = SIN(A*PI())

    Where Column A is the X range in your data series Column B is the Y range.
    Note the numbers in column A are multiples of pi.

    Set the cell format of the range in column A to custom format "Generalpi"

    Tick the box in the X axis format where it says "linked to source"

    Alternatively just set the number format for the X axis to Generalpi.

    Right click on the X axis,
    Click on Format Axis...
    Note it is sometimes difficult to select the correct item in the chart;
    if it doesn't come up with the Format Axis... option you have probably selected some other item.
    Select the number tab; then the custom Category; type in "Generalpi" unter Type

    Mark.
