    auto adjust row height

How do I set my spread sheet to auto-adjust row height. I have a number of cells that requires notes to be entered in different rows. The number of characters varies from as little as 20 to as many as 500. Each of the cells are set to wrap text. However, after typing the information into a cell and hitting the enter key, the row height will not adjust automatically to see all of the information. I want the row height to adjust automatically so I do not need to adjust every time. Thanks in advance for any comments.

    Hi,

Without VBA, Select all cells (click on upper left area between 1 and A)
    Format Row Autofit

auto adjust row height feature does not work consistently

    Hi,
I'm an experienced Excel user, but have a format problems that I can't figure out. I'm using Excel 2000 for Mac running OS X 10.4.8. Some rows in a worksheet have a lot of vertical white space - enough for several rows of text, though none of the cells contains more than one row of text. I tried using the Format - Row - Autofit feature to get rid of the extra space, but it does not. I checked to see if there were unseen hard returns in the cells, and there are not.

    Work-around solution:
I just selected the entire worksheet and changed the vertical alignment to center, and all the rows condensed to the correct height. Then I changed the vertical alignment back to bottom, and the rows stayed the correct height. Weird.
