Prevent password removing software from working

Hi there,

I work a lot with sheets where users cannot edit certain parts, for that reason I use a password lock. I have however noticed that there is certain software available online that can take out this password protection and let those users edit the sheet anyway.

Is there a way for me to prevent this password removal software from working? I'd hate to have to put the sheet in PDF in order to prevent them from editing, so a solution would be greatly appreciated.

A PDF is probably the way you're going to have to go.

There is probably some complicated method with custom projects or something, but even that won't be fallible.

Worksheet protection is mostly just a deterrent to accidental modification.
