    Newbee Formula question

    First post.
Hope someone can help & I need an easy way to do this if possible. It is for my boss.

Take a spreadsheet. Column F has cost of product. Column D has a formula attached to it that does a 20% increase from the cost figure in Column F.
    Example. =PRODUCT(F7,0.2) or 100 (in F7) X .20 = 20 (in column D7)

    The question.
Is there way to delete the costs in Column F, and still leave the amt. (with the % still applied) in Column D intact? So far, when I delete all the info in Column F, it changes the info in Column D.

Thanks for any and all help.

You can change the formula in column F to the result value by copying column F and then using PasteSpecial > Values to paste the values into column F or any other column.

    Maybe this will clarify better.

Here are two columns as an example copied from Exel. The right one is where the cost of goods is entered. I put the slashes to separate the columns.
The left one has had a formula entered that results in 20% increase in margin.
    120/////////100
    240/////////200
    360/////////300
    720/////////600
    1200///////1000
I need my boss to send me a copy of this price sheet, but in deleting the cost column, he gets this.
    1.2
    1.2
    1.2
    1.2
    1.2
I want him to be able to send me the price sheet, with column 1 intact with the 20% increase (after deleting 2). Is there an easy way to do this. I tried the Paste Special, but it done the same thing.

    Figured it out

    My wife showed me this.
Hide the cost column. Protect the sheet. Send the locked sheet.

    paste special

Copy column D, then Paste Special > Values to column D.

    Then delete column F.
