    formula logic..please help

    Hi,

I'm not very good in math so I really need your help in this:

if during january I worked 20 and generated $1500; and during february I worked 22 days and generated $1800. How can I compute in % the change or variance?

That's what I did and it's wrong: (1800-1500)/1500 since I worked more days in february and I need to take into count the performance based on the revenue and days worked. any ideas tks

    Hi

a/b will give you the percentage. If you subtract 1, then you get the change. As an example, 105/100 will give you 1.05 (ie 105%) Subtract the 1 and you get .05 (ie 5%) which is the variance. Same for 95/100. Gives you .95 subtract the 1 and you get -.05 (ie -5%).
