Lookup data on specific sheet and cell when I type Sheet name in...

Here is what I'm trying to do:

I have a summary sheet where I'm going to enter values in. When I enter these values, I need it to return specific data that is stored in another sheet, and lookup the sheetname by the value that I type in.

For example: on my summary sheet, I would type in "A" in C2 which is the name of a specific sheet. I need it to go to Sheet "A", pick out the value in M2, and return that value into F2 on the summary sheet.

Then, when I type in "B" in C2, I need it to return the M2 value from Sheet "B" and return that value into cell F2 on the summary sheet.

The values on the various sheets are in the same location on each sheet..I just need it to lookup when I change the sheet name in the summary page.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi,

    Try

    =INDIRECT(C2&"!M2")

Didn't know how easy that was. Guess I gotta do some research on the indirect function

Another quick problem I can't seem to figure out with VLookup that is closely related to that problem we just fixed:

In my summary page, I enter a name in D2 such as "ADAM"

I need it to look match "ADAM" on Sheet1 whichs in column A, then return the result in Column D that is on the same row as Adam.

    =VLOOKUP("D2",Sheet1!A2:E79,4)

This is what I have so far and its returning the correct column but nowhere close to matching the name.

Hope we can figure this out.

Remove the quote marks from around the D

    E.g "D"

Wow. I've definitely been staring at this spreadsheet too long.
