    way to force a save?

does any body know if there is a way to force a save and end the program if you are having someone work on your spreadsheet and they are inputting data that is not within a range?

I think this might be what you are looking for. Copy this into the ThisWorkbook module:

Change the red range above into the range you are allowing input.

    awesome guys!

thanks so much for replies. I can't wait to try them out. My only problem believe it or not is that my new computer that I bought before the holidays, the Microsoft office package jsut ran out the 30 day trial. Is there anywhere I can get this software for free? Just asking! Not that I would want to get it for free or anything

Uhh, no, you can't get Microsoft Office for free. But I think you can download OpenOffice 2.1 from OpenOffice.org for free (http://www.openoffice.org/). You can usually purchase just Excel separately from Office for like $100.

I haven't used OpenOffice since the StarOffice7 days, but it should provide most of the functionality of Excel at a much better price. Although, am I allowed to say that in an Excel forum?
