    How to divide a list of values say B2:B12 by two in a column?

    Hi,

    I know this sounds very simple - but I can't see the obvious... How do I divide a list of values say B2:B12 by two in a column in one go? I tried highlighting say B2 to B12 and entering a general divide by 2... but no luck.

    23 = 23/2
    10 = 10/2... and so on..

    Thanks in advance!

    Type a 2 into a blank cell somewhere, copy this cell, and select your column values, go Edit>PasteSpecial and select Divide (under Operation section) from the dialog and hit OK.

    Hope this helps!

    Very Good Richard!!!

    That's an excellent trick! Thanks very much. I appreciate your time helping me with that one. I use paste special for carrying forward format types from other cells - but carrying forward operations like divide is a good technique!
