    simple chart

Hello, I am trying to create a very simple chart. I am trying to show Years on X-axis and CO2 levels on Y-axis. It is treating both Years and CO2 levels as two series. I tried all kinds of solutions. I added a secondary axis. It is still treating it as two series and two axis. How can I show one series on X axis and years on Y axis. Below is the data:
    Year CO2
    1750 260
    1800 280
    1850 300
    1900 320
    1950 340
    2000 360
    Please help. Thank you.
    BGN2.

one solution is to format your years column as a date. To do this, highlight the column>right click>format cells> custom> type YYYY

Now, when you enter the year, you have to enter it as a date (1900 wil be 1/1/1900)

This method worked for me (I dont know that it is the best method, but it works).

EDIT TO ADD: Formatting the cells as numbers works also.

    Thank you

It worked. I wonder why Excel has such problem with a simple chart.

I think the problem is that it was in general format. At that point, excel cant differntiate albels/numbers from a different data series all together.

I'm glad you were able to get it to work
