How Do I Update Master workbook with data from other workbooks?

Hi All:

I have two Excel files. I need to update File 1 with some of the columns from file 2, just as we do updating in Oracle.

I am all NEW to Excel.

I need this to be transferred to Oracle.

I have two templates from two vendors, dealing with two different kind of products. Therefore, the product_codes are different.

Now if flie (1) belongs to vendor (1), I want update the following columns of File (1) with that of File (2) which belongs to vendor (2):

product_code.
product_descr
quantity_in_hand
etc etc

There is no match between the product_code of the vendors. It is simply appending.
