I have a spreadsheet containing cells that have had the tags for html written into them as they were being translated and then used in a way that the tags took effect. Example cell text as follows.

"This bit is <b>bold</b> and this bit isn't"

I have changed the "bold" bit within excel to actually be bold and removed the tags then saved as an html file which allowed me to use a peice of translation software that could recognise the tags and only give me the text to translate thereby removing any errors from losing the tags in the translation.

However, my problem is that the original spreadsheet is huge and if I search and replace the <b> for example with a blank then the real formatting I applied in the cell is lost.

Is there a way I can remove the tags written into the cells without losing the formating I applied and without having to do each one individually?

I hope this makes sense, it seems to for me but then I can see what I'm doing..!

Thanks

Paul.
