    Auto-Fill selection when using Data Validation?

    Hi,

    I've created a data validation box in Excel (2003) and would like to use the keyboard to get to the entry I want once the box is open. Here's an example of what I want...

    1. After opening the data validation box using ALT+down arrow, I am left with the selection options, let's say they are;

    Apple
    Banana
    Cherry
    Grape

    I'd like to be able to press "C" on my keyboard and automatically have it select "Cherry". How do I do this?

    Thanks in advance

    Based on what I have read, you cannot setup an auto complete on data validations. Instead, you must look into using a combo box.

    I tried to create a combo box but noticed that it appears "over" a cell. I can't make seem to make it "part" or "grouped" to a specific cell which means that I can't use "ALT+down arrow" to open the combo box up. Can a combo box be grouped to a cell to do these things?
