Thumbs down Dynamically Link Excel Workbooks over A LAN

    Hi everyone,

I work in a small office environment. We have 6 PCs connected on a LAN. The LAN is also connected to the internet. Each PC is running Office 2003. We want to DYNAMICALLY share (read & update) open Excel workbooks across the LAN.

I tried using COPY and PASTE SPECIAL ...trouble is that other PCs do not see updates in realtime. I have to SAVE the workbook and then they have to re-OPEN the workbook for changes to be reflected.

I would really appreciate any advice from anyone.

    Regards,

    Stacy

    Hello Stacy,

It sounds like the workbook resides on your computer. For everyone to share the workbook in real time, the workbook needs to be on the LAN server.

    Sincerely,

Easy to capture changes on LAN server AFTER Excel instances are SAVED... quite a different story otherwise. Realtime is the keyword here.

    Thanks anyways.
