    Paste Special - Values

It shouldn't really matter since you are picking a random number.
    I dont't see a difference between

    Pick a random number 0-1

    and

    Pick a randon number again

Ensure you describe your problem clearly, I have little time available to solve these problems and do not appreciate numerous changes to them.

    Non-Random

That is the way RAND() works, it produces a new random number EVERY time EXCEL does a re-calculation.
Thus every time any change is made, or any toime you press function key 9 RAND() will give a new number.

If you want to get a set of random numbers, then keep them constant, use cut and paste special to paste back the VALUEs over the original FORMULAs.

    Mark.
