    Adding accounts

I have an accounting program that exports pivot tables to excel.
These have varying lengths (but always 1 column account #, 1 periode, 1 blank column and the grand total)

What is the easiest way to add all account values between eg. account 3-11 if I'm not sure whether that is 1 or 8 lines?

Not quite, Imagine the table covers the year past (january-september)
I want to be able to draw the total sales for March-July and these exact months whether the total table cover jan-dec or jan-feb.

    Hi Jakob42,

    Its something like this:

    =GETPIVOTDATA("Sales",$A$4,"Month","March", "April", "May", [other fields])

Can you attach the xl file?

I just realised me problem is slightly bigger than first anticipated. I am not able to use the original pivot table, as it is only accesible on a locked network drive. I can however copy the data to a new sheet like the attached, so my first thought was to use a lookup function as I no longer need to draw a total of sums but only singular values. Problem here is that the lookup screws up every time I copy a block of data.

Is there a smarter way to fix this?
