    Quick cell formatting (avoiding F2)

I've changed a number format to date and currently have to hit F2+enter to make cells change to the new format - is there any way to expedite this process / do it in mass??

    Many thanks for any help!

    Preformat the cells....
Where there is a will there are many ways.

How about selecting the columns/rows that contain these values and formatting them all at once?

Have done this (format cell> number > date) with all the cell highlighted, but you still have to F2 down. Have also tried highlighting all the cells after this, then hitting F2, but that only goes down cell by cell still.

I know there is a shortcut for this, but just can't remember!

    How about Data|Text to Columns.

Select one column at a time and go to Data|Text to columns...

skip to the 3rd screen and select Date from the Column Data Format area and select the correct configuration in the drop down next to the Date radio button.

    Click Finish.
