    Cell Selection Problem

    Guys,

I have been experiencing a nightmare lately everytime I want to select, copy,... a block of cell with data with the Ctrl+Shift and the arrow keys. Basically, the problem is that if I press and hold Ctrl+Shift and use the Down or Up Arrow it doesn't move, therefore I cannot select the block of cells. If I want to do this I have to do it with the mouse, which is a nightmare when you work with thousands of rows. It works fine with the Right or Left arrows, it's only the up or down that I have problem with.

    Help!!!!

    Thanks,

    Diego

    Hi,

When you say "it doesn't move", what doesn't move? You mean the cells don't get highlighted? Or the screen wont scroll at all?

I've tried this on my PC and it works fine. If you have accidentally hit the scroll lock key on your keyboard, you might be getting some problems (mystified the heck outta me 1st time I did it!!) but that should stop scrolling left/right as well as up/down. It's a puzzle certainly.

If you haven't already done so:
    - try the same spreadsheet on a different PC
    - try a different spreadsheet on the same PC.

This should at least help to idenify whether the problem is with the computer or with the file.

    Try this

Let go of the Ctrl key
You only need the shift key to select a block of cells.

Correct! I hadn't even spotted he'd used the Ctrl key, which seems to jump you to the end of the data (or maybe range)
