Resolved >>> Protect Sheet Dialog Box Default

I am working with Excel 2003 and find that the default "Protect Sheet" dialog box opens with a default of both the "Select locked cells" as well as the "Select unlocked cells" check boxes marked. Does anyone know if there is a way to change this default?

    Thanks!

You might have recorded any macros in that workbook? If so remove the code.

    Thanks and more.

Thanks for your help, starguy. No macros in workbook I was testing. I did, however, find out that this is a known bug in Excel 2003 and not exactly the "bug" I described -- okay, not even close. Ultimately I was trying to use a Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) macro to set the EnableSelection property and was under the impression that I might be able to fix my issue if I could change the default on the "Protect Sheet" dialog box. Nope, I was pretty far off base. Fortunately this is corrected in a subsequent patch so I downloaded an update or two and now everything is working as I would expect.

In case others might find this useful . . .

The following describes the problem with a link to full article at the bottom:
The EnableSelection property is not saved when you use a VBA macro to set the property in Excel 2002 or in Excel 2003

When you try to use a Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) macro to set the EnableSelection property in Microsoft Excel 2002 or in Microsoft Office Excel 2003, the EnableSelection property is not saved. After the workbook is saved, closed, and then opened, cells that you expect to be locked can be selected.

If you set the EnableSelection property manually, the changes are saved. Additionally, locked cells cannot be selected when the workbook is open.
