    Excel lookup for a range of cells

    How can i use lookup function to compare a range?
    Input 2005 2006 2007
    Cost 1000 2000 3000
    score ? ? ?

    The cells with ? should return 1,2,3 respectively based on the costs entered by user. It should compare with the table below and assign the value (1-3) depend on the costs enter. E.g. If user enter 1000, the cell below cost will return 1.

    Table
    --------------
    High 3 <=3000
    Medium 2 <=2000
    Low 1 <=1000

    I'm not sure why you want to use a lookup, given your example data. You can put the following formula in the cell for the 2005 score (change A1 to whatever the cost cell is), and copy across to the other columns)
