Converting time values from AM to PM

    Hi,

Is there a way to convert an AM time value to PM with a formula ?

I have a list of time values such as

    12:21:12
    08:10:10
    etc
    etc

but some of them are AM and others are PM. I want to convert them to a 24 hour clock but can't. By formatting alone I haven't managed to achieve it so I was wondering if there a formula that could do it. I can apply the formula to the PM only and convert them to a 24 hour time value.

Thank you in advance for any feedback,

    K.

    Hi,

To advance a time by 12 hours, add 0.5 (of a day)

    ie

    08:18 AM + 0.5 = 8:18 PM
    Rule 1: Never merge cells
    Rule 2: See rule 1

This looks to be working perfectly.

Thanks, I wasn't aware of that!

Re: Converting time values from AM to PM

Is there a way to allow someone to enter 3:00 and it automatically puts it to PM? I am trying to do time and am having the hardest time trying to get the time to work and calculate correctly
I put in 8:00, 1:00, 2:00 and 5:00 during the day and it should total 8 hours.

What I need is for when I type 8:00 it comes up AM and when I type other numbers they come up PM and then I need to have it total.

Please help so when I set this up my child can use it with ease.

    Thank you
