    trouble opening a korean slk

    Hi,,,
I'm having a problem with a korean slk file.
When I open it it works fine except for the korean letters. Most of them appear in Chinese somehow. When I open it in notepad they're Korean.
I really want them in korean in excel.
    Please help
    Thx

PS: I added the slk file...

    Hello rabbitspazz,

A .slk file or SLYK (Symbolic Link) is formatted in ASCII. This is fine if you are only using English. NotePad supports both ASCII and Unicode formats. You don't mention what version of Windows you are using. If you have Windows XP, Excel already has the universal font for Unicode installed. If not, you can install the universal font. Arial Unicode MS font is a full Unicode font. It contains all of the characters, ideographs, and symbols defined in the Unicode 2.1 standard. Select the entire worksheet, and change the font to Arial Unicode MS. This should fix the problem.

    Microsoft Windows 2000
    1. Quit all programs.
    2. In Control Panel, double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
    3. Do one of the following:
      • If you installed your Microsoft Office program as part of an Office package, click Microsoft Office in the Currently installed programs box, and then click Change.
      • If you installed your Office program individually, click the name of your program in the Currently installed programs box, and then click Change.
    4. In the Microsoft Office 2003 Setup dialog box, click Add or Remove Features, and then click Next.
    5. Select Choose advance customization of applications, and then click Next.
Next to Office Shared Features, click the plus sign (+).
    6. Next to International Support, click the plus sign (+).
    7. Click the icon next to Universal Font, and then select the installation option you want.

    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross
