    sumif giving error

    I'm using sumif in my formula and keep getting #value! error why?

    formula: =sumif('Sheet2:Sheet4'!B1:B43,="Sales",'Sheet2:Sheet4'!A1:A43)

    You can't use 3D references with SUMIF. You could try:

    =SUMPRODUCT(SUMIF(INDIRECT("'" & {"Sheet2","Sheet3","Sheet4"} & "'!B1:B43"),"Sales",INDIRECT("'" & {"Sheet2","Sheet3","Sheet4"} & "'!A1:A43")))[/code]
