    Import BO 6 report to Excel

    Hello Guys,

    I would like to know if i can import BO report to Excel, using Excel's Import External Data... if possible how?, can someone take me to the right direction..thanks!

    well i'am answering my own post..:D i dont think it is possible, i think you can only import data to excel if the data is coming from a database???

    Hi corinereyes,

    Does "BO" refer to Business Objects (Crystal reports)? If so, I think you did answer your own question.

    Other reporting tools don't contain any data, they just query a data source, so pointing excel to the report document won't do much good. With BO (Crystal) you can export to Excel, though.

    If you want to work with the data directly in Excel, then you would need to link to the specific database type (SQL, Oracle, etc.) via the Data -> Import External Data -> New Database Query menu.

    Hello Paul,

    I' am referring to Business Objects. Thanks for your info, i just found out that you can "Save As" BO reports into an excel file (.xls) but i finding a way to automate it, so if you query from other database to BO and everytime i refresh the report in BO it will automatically update the data in Excel.
