    Calculation to Number field

    Hi, guys.

I have a spreadsheet which draws information from a series of other spreadsheets on a local network and calculates a total - productivity figures from a staff of 11.

Monthly I need to send these figures to Head Office. There is no connectivity to our local network so obviously the links to the staff's spreadsheets do not function correctly when the file is emailed to my boss.

Is there a way of converting the calculated figures into number fields either automatically in a another field on the spreadsheet? I could save a second version and then type over the formulas but this seems a little "industrial" by way of a solution.

    Thanks.

All you can to do is select the entire worksheet and copy it, then right click and choose paste special and choose values. This strips out all formulas and replaces them with hard numbers.

You can do this as a part of a macro and include in it a save as selecting a new name for the document. This will ensure that the formulas are retained the next time you open the file.
