    Page Break Printing

Trying to select a couple groups of columns that are not adjacent to each other on the Spreadsheet but want to print next to each other on the output. Tried using Page Break functionality but can't seem to figure out how to combine Page 1 and Page 2 into a single page on the printout. Went through Page Setup and everything should fit on a single page. Used the Help functionality without success. I do have my Window set to Freeze so I can eliminate some cells from view but it doesn't seem to make any difference.

    Hello jelamb1325,

If would help if you can attach your workbook for review. The workbook must first be zipped, and the maximum size can't be more than 100kb.

    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross

    Excel Printing of Non-Adjacent Columns

    Thursday Schedule.zip
I copied the two columns so they were adjacent to the print area so they could be included. I would prefer not to have to do this, however. If you Unfreeze the Window and delete Columns AC and AD, then try to print Columns R and S adjacent to the AE, AF....etc., that is what I am trying to do.

    Hello jelamb1325,

This took longer than I expected. Since there is no built in method to do what you want, I wrote a macro that combines both panes onto another sheet to be printed out. The printout is in landscape to accommodate the width data. The macro sets the print area automatically and limits the print out to 1 page. You can activate the macro at anytime using CTRL+SHIFT+P. The macro below has already been installed in the attached workbook.

    Page Break Printing

Thanks for your efforts. I manage no less than 3 Spreadsheets of this kind so I opened another one and tried your Macro seeing as how it indicated that it would work in any open workbook. I encountered two problems: 1) it did not print the Header/Footer and 2) it increased the size of the last phone number column resulting in an overlap with the adjacent cell.
I thought that Excel did support what I am trying to do via it's Page Break Printing functionality because I thought I had gotten it to work in one spreadsheet. However, I revisited that spreadsheet and found I was mistaken. I am still not convinced that Excel does not allow the type of printing I am trying to do because it seems like a very logical functionality to have. Also affecting this situation is the fact that I Email this Spreadsheet to the people whose name appears on it so they can view and print it. I have had numerous people tell me that they have trouble viewing and printing the information that I sent them. I attribute most of this to user error. Nevertheless, the bottom line seems to be that I simply need to replicate the information on a brand new worksheet when it requires updating.
Again, I thank you for your efforts.

    Hello jelamb1325,

Interesting results. I ran the macro on the worksheets in the workbook you provided with no problems. It could a difference in operating systems/Excel versions causing the problem. I am running Excel 2003 under Windows XP on a PC. What are you running?

    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross

I am also using Excel 2003, Windows XP on a PC. One of the fellows that has complained about the output is using Vista.

    Hello jelamb1325,

There's the problem - Vista. Vista doesn't do backward compatibility like the previous versions of Windows. The macro most likely will need to recoded to work with Vista.

    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross
